Derby & Mint Juleps

A friend of mine is having a Kentucky Derby party, so I immediately thought of mint Juleps. Of course we carry everything for Kentucky Derby on the web site, but I absolutely love this copy that Laura (our product copywriter wrote):
"MintThe mint julep is more than a beverage – it is a ceremony steeped in tradition and an emblem of Southern hospitality and heritage. The proper way to serve a mint julep is in a silver plated cup… Stir the drink in the cup with crushed ice until a thin layer of ice forms around the cup… A true Southern gentleman would say that to make an authentic mint julep you need a true sense of the artistic, a deep reverence for the ingredients and a proper appreciation of the occasion. And of course, silver plated cups" It just makes me want to drink one.
Risa also suggested I bring racing forms & our awesome Good Luck garden in a bag for party favors. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
